Here at The Next Step we take your privacy seriously and respectfully. We believe in transparency and being upfront about our privacy practices. 
We will only use your personal information to administer your account and to provide the services you have requested from us. 
Information about us? 
The Next Step is a specialist recruitment agency for British Ex-Military, we aim at placing Veterans into meaningful work using our specially designed App and website as a platform to advertise jobs. Designed to help veterans prepare and transition into a civilian career, placing them not only into the civilian work space but also enabling them to manage their ambitions. The Next Step will empower existing and future Veterans to gain high calibre employment through an intelligent, tailored platform.

Data Protection Principles
Under the GDPR, the data protection principles set out the main responsibilities for organisations.
Article 5 of the GDPR requires that personal data shall be:

Article 5(2) requires that:
“the controller shall be responsible for, and be able to demonstrate, compliance with the principles.”
How is your information used? 
Any data you upload into your profile on our App is securely stored in our system for our use, only we can see this data. We do not share this data with any third parties without your consent.

Having your information in our system allows us to look through your profile and match you to jobs that are suited to the skill set you have provided us with. 
We may use your data to: 
  •   Notifying you of potential roles or opportunities
  • Assessing and reviewing your suitability for job roles and training courses now and in the future
  • To support you through your search for employment by sharing your CV on a semi-anonymous basis (i.e. your name will be excluded) with potential clients and recruitment partners.   
  • Engaging you for a role with us or with our Clients
  • Retaining a record of our dealings
  • Establishing quality, training and compliance with our obligations and best practice
  •  For the purposes of backing up information on our computer system
How do we collect your information? 
Examples of how We obtain your information:
  • When you apply for a job via our application link on our jobs board on our website
  • When you download our App
  • When you send us documents via Email (CV Etc) 
  • If you subscribe to our Newsletter
  • Via our Social Media pages
  • Online job sites such as Indeed
  • Phone conversations
What type of information is collected from you? 
The personal information we collect from you may be your:
  • Name 
  • Address 
  • Email Addresses 
  • Phone numbers 
  • Current and previous Work history
  • Demographic Information 
  • Information you provide or provided to us by your references 
  • Your subscriptions to us e.g. Jobs Newsletter 
Will your Data be shared with Third Parties? 
Should we have an application from you that we are actively processing your CV and details may be passed along to a potential employer, if your application reaches this stage you will be in direct contact with us and you will have given complete consent for this to go ahead. 
We do not share your personal data without your consent.
How Long will your Data be stored? 
The length of time we will hold or store your personal information for will depend on the services we perform for you and for how long you require these. As we often support candidates with placements over many years, and potentially throughout their careers, the purpose for which we retain candidate data is often an ongoing purpose.  
We conduct regular data-cleansing and updating exercises with our candidates to ensure that 
(a) the data that we hold is accurate and 
(b) we are not holding data for too long.
You have the right to withdraw your consent at any given time, by contacting us directly on info@vetsnextstep.com
If at any point you would like to remove your App User simply login go to the “My Account” Page, Scroll down and choose delete your account this will remove all Data from our database. If you cannot login please contact us on info@vetsnextstep.com and you will be given a Data removal request form we will then remove your information on your behalf. 
Where we store your information? 
All of your information is stored securely in our database, this database consists of;
The admin controls of the App that is a secure system only we have access to.
Paper copies are stored in locked cabinets at our Head Office
In our Secure Cloud system and only shared between our recruitment team.
Your information is Also held in MailerLite should you have signed up to our Newsletter Via our website.
